Floyd Ray Dirk, beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend, died Feb. 20, 2012, in Queen Creek after a long illness. He was born Oct. 3, 1961 in Topeka, Kansas.
He served our country in the Army. Floyd grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas where he developed a love for the outdoors, especially fishing. He moved to the Florida Panhandle and eventually settled in Arizona.
Floyd was Christian, a patriot, loved his country, passionately loved his family and pets, an adventurer, hunter, strong in his beliefs, a jokester, war history buff, fisherman, a big man with an even bigger heart, if you knew him you loved him and he surely made you laugh.
Floyd was preceded in death by his brother, James Dirk.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly; daughter Keisha; granddaughter Alexandra (Lexi) Ewing; grandsons: Ethan, Aiden and Aaron Dirk; step children: David Seely, Stacy Spears, Martin Garcia Jr., Amanda Shook, Kara Jo Garcia; mother Martha Smith; three brothers: Henry Dirk of Corpus Christi, Texas, Gary Raybern of Orlando, Fla., Dennis Dirk of Glendale; three sisters Ruth Martin of Queen Creek, Peggy Dirk of Milton, Fla., and Maggie Harris of Huntsville, Texas; five nieces, seven great nieces, five nephews and six great-nephews.
A viewing was held Friday Feb. 24 at Mariposa Gardens 400 S. Power Rd. Mesa, AZ 85206. Funeral services were held at the same location, Saturday, Feb. 25. Following the service a bon fire and celebration of his life was held in Queen Creek.
