FOY, SR., Kenneth Allen


Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from March 2 to March 9, 2012 - Kenneth Allen Foy Sr., age 78, a former resident of Needles, Calif., passed away peacefully at his current home in Libby, Mont., on Friday, February 17, 2012. He was born February 21, 1933, in Peru, Ind., to Lyman and Mary Foy. After serving five years in the United States Navy, he came to Needles, Calif., in the early sixties where he worked as a police detective for the Santa Fe Railroad. While working for the Santa Fe, that is where he met his first wife, Mary Davis. They married shortly after, and had two children, Ken Jr. and April. After the Santa Fe, he went to work for the Needles Police Department. During his years there, he would go hunting and trapping with some of his fellow coworkers. After his retirement from the police department in 1984, he finished out his working years as a security guard for Southern California Edison in Laughlin, Nev. In 1995, he moved to Libby, Mont., where he met and married his second wife, Carol, and he lived out the rest of his years doing what he loved most, which was hunting and fishing. We love you Dad, and you will be greatly missed! He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyman and Mary Foy; older brother, Lewis William Foy; grandson, Antonio Jose Jesus; and his first wife, Mary Foy. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Carol of Libby, Mont.; two sons, Ken Foy, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev. and Willard Virden of Bullhead City, Ariz.; five daughters, April (Rigo) Reynoso of Mohave Valley, Ariz, Donna Garcia, Laura (Jimmy) Schubert of Needles, Linda (Reese) Harward of Midlothian, Texas, and Mary Mireles of Las Vegas; two stepsons, Greg and Rick Johnson of Montana; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two cousins, Joyce Hendrickson of Rialto, Calif. and Nina Roberts of Akron, Ohio. Per his request, there will be no services. Internment will be private with family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Cancer Society in honor of Kenneth Allen Foy.
