Meldrum Mortuary, Mesa, Arizona Jerry L. Allred May 29, 1927 ~ February 25, 2012 Jerry L. Allred, 84, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on February 25, 2012. Loving husband, father, and grandpa passed away quietly at home. He will be greatly missed. Jerry was born in Safford Az. May 29, 1927 to a farming family, Cal Vertis and Beulah Allred. He joined the Navy at age 17. Returned home and married his sweetheart, Nancy Wiggins, July 26, 1950 and was sealed in the Mesa, Arizona temple. They were blessed with a daughter, Sherri. Jerry's 3 greatest loves in life were his wife/family, horse breeding & racing, and his church. He has left an incredible impression on all 3. He along with his 2 brothers, Dale and Harvey set records for farming production & many records in quarter horse racing & breeding. Jerry held and filled many callings in his church life and loved and served everyone. He is survived by bis loving wife, Nancy of 61 years, daughter Sherri Ellsworth (Richard), grandchildren; JoLynn Ellsworth (Brian), Lyndsey Mortensen (Bryan), Brent Ellsworth (Kami), Tara Rackley (Tyson), and Matthew Ellsworth, great grandchildren; Blake, Conner, and Brilynn Ellsworth, Garrett, Gavyn, and Ella Mortensen, Gavin and Savanna Farr-Ellsworth, Kaydee and Braden Lomu, Trevor, Marlee, Jayson, Tyson, and Natalee Gibbons, and Jaydon Ellsworth, sister Viola Booher. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, at 10:00 am. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kimball Stake Center, 1266 S. 32nd St., Mesa. Viewing Friday, March 2, 6-8 pm at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald in Mesa and 1 hour prior to services at the church Saturday.
