Joaquin Reyes, 83, of Avondale died Dec. 24, 2010, at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center.

Mr. Reyes was born Aug. 1, 1927, in Tortugas, N.M. He moved to Arizona in 1950. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

He is survived by four daughters, Veronica, Delfena, Dolores and Angela; five sons, John, Jack, Nick, Jerry and Joseph; 31 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will run from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Avenidas Funeral Chapel, 522 E. Western Ave. in Avondale. Services begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 1418 S. 17th Ave. in Phoenix. 

Interment will follow at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery in Phoenix.
