Bob Bowyer peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012. Born on June 7, 1912, in Pontiac, Michigan, he was predeceased by his wife, Imelda (Kennedy) Bowyer and eldest son, Robert E. Bowyer.
He is survived by his sons, Paul, James (Chris), and David (Tracey), daughter-in-law Joyce, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bowyer served in the Navy and Marines during WWII, before opening his first pharmacy in Detroit. He and Imelda retired in Yuma, Arizona in 1978, where they were among the earliest and most active members of the then-fledgling parish of St. John Neumann. For the past 9 years, he had resided at the Desert Rose retirement community, where he met his dear friend, Ms. Elsie Hilsinger.
Memorial Services will be held at 9:00am on Monday, February 27, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 11545 E. 40th Street, Yuma, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in his name be made to the St. John Neumann Building Fund.
