LOFTIN, Melvin Carl


Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from March 4 to March 11, 2012 - Melvin Carl Loftin, Jr., age 74, a five-year resident of Bullhead City, died Saturday, February 11, 2012, in Bullhead City, Ariz. He was born July 15, 1937, in Ft. Smith, Ark. Melvin served in the Air Force, and later worked as a railroad conductor in San Luis Obispo, Calif. After his retirement from the railroad, he moved to Bullhead City, Ariz. in 2007. He was a member of the Eagles, the Elks, American Legion and was very active with the Moose Lodge. He loved golfing and going to the Avi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Mildred Loftin, and brother Thomas Loftin. He is survived by his partner, Barbara Moffitt of Bullhead City, Ariz.; sister, Barbara Hagan of Manteca, Calif.; brother, James Loftin of Idaho; "adopted daughters," Lana Lucus and Carol King, both of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1860, 2620 Miracle Mile, Bullhead City, Ariz.
