CRISTOBAL (CHRIS) CANDELARIA Age 67, of Santa Fe, passed away with his loving family by his side on August 14, 2010. Chris was born in Magdalena, New Mexico on December 19, 1942.
He was an Army Veteran and served his country proudly from 1964-1972. Chris was a contractor and owner of Santa Fe Traditional Masonry and was well known for his design and construction of fireplaces. He was liked by many people and had a good sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reyes Nieto Candelaria and Sylvia Montez-Candelaria.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Cassie of Belen; beloved grandchildren: Christopher, Lawrence and Audrey; sisters and brothers: Alex Candelaria and wife Donna of Oracle, AZ; Aurelia and husband Grady Utley of Santa Fe; Mary Candelaria of Santa Fe; Veronica and husband Max Chavez of Santa Fe; Theresa Varela of Santa Fe; Robert Candelaria of Santa Fe; Lisa and husband Curtis Belcher of Stanley; and numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2010, 9:30 a.m. followed by a Rosary, 10 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 511 Alicia Street in Santa Fe.
Interment will follow at the San Pedro Cemetery near Golden with the following serving as pallbearers: Robert Candelaria, Zander Candelaria, Joe Montes, Curtis Belcher, Jr., Cody Belcher, and Matthew Chavez. Honorary pallbearers are: Milo Candelaria, Lorena Lugo, Vitalia Candelaria, Sylvia Varela, Cami Belcher, and Carlene Belcher.
