The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona Sunday, March 11, 2007 Abbie Monroe Abbie Monroe, 86, of Cottonwood, Ariz., died March 8, 2007. She was born Feb. 15, 1921, in Portland Ore. She was the daughter of Mamie Gates. Abbie loved traveling, reading, and gardening. She was an excellent seamstress, and she enjoyed ceramics. She leaves behind her husband of 47 years, Howard Monroe of Cottonwood; her daughter Sharon Kramer; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A viewing will take place on Thursday, March 15, with the Funeral Service and interment will follow on March 16. All services will be held at the Rose Hills Mortuary and Cemetery in Whittier, Calif.
