Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Sunday, March 11, 2012 - John Trenton, 90, Lake Havasu City, was born Sept. 14, 1921, in Italy, to Marco and Maria Trenton. John left us March 3, 2012 to be with his late wife, Frances, in Heaven. John came to the United States in 1938, and he loved his adopted country unfailingly. He was proud to call himself an American. John met and married his wife, Frances, in New York and together they eventually moved to Anaheim, Calif., where they raised their six children — Donald, Robert, John, Gary, Laurie and Arlene. John and Frances were blessed with nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Nothing delighted John more than quizzing his grandchildren about American history and state capitals. John and Frances retired to Lake Havasu City. When Frances passed away in 2002, John continued to reside in Lake Havasu City but frequently drove to California to visit his children and their families. John was an executive chef who worked for the Walt Disney Co., the California Angels of Major League Baseball and Fluor Corp. During his career, he owned his own restaurant and worked in several other restaurants throughout Southern California. John was knowledgeable about a great many things, chief among them politics, government and the world. He loved cooking, gardening, music and sports. He was a frequent visitor in Laughlin, Nev., where he often drove with his longtime good friend, Ann. John loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Visitation will be at Lietz-Fraze Chapel March 13 from 6 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary being said at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be Wednesday at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church Lake Havasu City, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.
