Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Sunday, March 11, 2012 - Eva L. McDaniel, 102, passed away March 1, 2012 in Lake Havasu City. She was born Jan, 28, 1910, in Holway, Wis., to Hattie (Johnson) and Harry McDaniel. Eva lived a long full life from graduating high school in Barstow, Calif., in 1927, where she met her first husband, James Joplin. Together they had a son, James Joplin. They moved to Parker, in the 1930s where they had a ranch. She was an avid horseback rider during her life. She relocated to Southern California, where she met and married Charles McDaniel in 1938, another avid horse rider. They spent many years riding in parades, including the Rose Bowl parade year after year. She brought a bright light into the lives of all who knew her. Eva is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sharline McDaniel, of Lake Havasu City; grandchildren, Charles McDaniel, of Golden Valley, Sherry Goff Sims, of Lake Havasu City, and Rich McDaniel, of Lake Havasu City; great-grandchildren, Justin Goff, Dylan McDaniel and Kyle McDaniel; great great-grandchildren, Tristan and Austin Goff, of Lake Havasu City. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbra Elliott; son, James McDaniel; and her husband, Charles McDaniel. Per her request, there will be no services.
