Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Sunday, March 11, 2012 - Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away March 4, 2012. She was born the third of four children Oct. 1, 1924 in New Bedford, Mass., to Albert and Deolinda Amaral. Elsie met her husband, the love of her life, while he was stationed in Massachusetts, where he was serving in the U.S. Navy. They were married Nov. 5, 1945, then sealed for eternity in the LDS Mesa Arizona temple March 24, 1948. They spent most of their married life in Parker, Ariz., where she raised her family and was involved with the community. She also worked for many years for Parker Motor Co., as an accountant. After they "retired," she and Chad move to Lake Havasu City, where Elsie began working again with her son Gary. Elsie is survived by her sisters, Delia Hammond of Massachusetts and Bertha Violet of New Hampshire; five of her six children, Brad (Kim) of Florida; Alan (Dawn) of Arizona; Dawn (Ken) of Colorado; Gary (Steph) of Arizona and Debra (Lawrence) of Utah; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chad; their son, Edward; her parents and brother, Edward. Services will take place March 17, 2012, at the LDS Chapel located at 510 Acoma Blvd. North, Lake Havasu City, AZ. Viewing will be from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., followed by 15 minutes of family only viewing, to be followed by funeral services beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the Havasu Memorial Garden Cemetery located at 1698 Deer Run Dr., in Lake Havasu City.
