Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Monday, March 12, 2012 - Melvin Kenneth Lucas 84, passed away March 8, 2012 in Lake Havasu City. He was born to Martin and Thelma Lucas in Olney, Texas, May 11, 1927. Melvin worked as brewer of Anheuser Busch Inc., in Los Angeles, Calif., for 42 years. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. He was a member of Lakeview Community Church and he enjoyed watching TV, traveling (especially to Nevada), taking pictures, old movies (John Wayne) and collecting steins from Anheuser Busch. He loved to eat at buffets and drink coffee at Safeway and Burger King. Melvin is survived by his loving family, sons, Scott Lucas (Laurie), of Dallas, Ore., and Chris Lucas of Dallas, Ore.; daughters, Cheryl Bell (Jerry) of Palmdale, Calif., and Kim Oeser, of Dallas, Ore.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be today at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at Lakeview Community Church at 11 a.m., with Pastor Dale Ray officiating.
