The Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on March 13, 2012 - Josefina "Jo" Charlene Adams passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 9, 2012, in Kingman. She was born Jan. 13, 1960, in Tijuana, Mexico. Jo's family eventually moved to Kingman where she graduated from Kingman High School. In 2007, she earned her Human Resources Professional Certification from Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). Jo worked at the Kingman Daily Miner where she held various positions within the organization including publisher and CEO, and worked at Mohave Community College in the HR Department and completed her career at Desert de Oro Foods as HR Director. Jo was involved in many aspects of the community to include Church Council Member and Mission Coordinator of Grace Lutheran Church, Soroptimist International of Kingman, Kingman Boys and Girls Club Advisory Board, Project Linus (a group of quilters for the needy), and donated her time and talents with many various organizations. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, David; son, Jeremiah of Flagstaff; brother, Charles Sweazey of McEwen,Tenn.; niece, Kayla Sweazey of Kingman; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Josefina Sweazey. Jo's passing is much too soon and she will be missed as her husband's best friend and a loving mother. She will be remembered for her contagious smile and laughter, for all her accomplishments and contributions over the years both personally, professionally, and in the community. There is great comfort knowing Jo is singing with the angels in her new heavenly home. The family invites you to join them at Jo's memorial service at 10 a.m. Friday, March 16, at Grace Lutheran Church, 2101 Harrison St. There will be a celebration of life from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. following the services at the Dambar and Steakhouse. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests a donation be made to a charity of your choosing.
