David Anthony Herrera, age 62, a 13-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz., was called to our Lord on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. He was welcomed home by all of his military brothers and his father, Gabriel Herrera, whom he loved and missed every day.
He was born October 16, 1949, in Los Angeles, Calif.
David was a highly-decorated lance corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. He always shook the hands of military men, and welcomed them home, especially Vietnam veterans. He did two tours in Khe Sanh from 1968-1969, received three Purple Hearts, and many other medals.
David's beautiful smile came straight from his heart.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Victoria L. Herrera; two sons, Frank Herrera and David Herrera Jr.; daughter, Dalynn (Joe) Avina and their children, Samantha and Kayla; mother and "Pop", Lupe and Frank Jaso; two sisters, Susie and Annette; brother, Gabriel; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of David's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1691 North Oatman Rd., Bullhead City.

Following the church service, a full Military Honors and Color Guard service will be presented by the U.S. Marine Corps. at Desert Lawn Funeral Home, 9250 S. Ranchero Lane, Mohave Valley, Ariz. The Bullhead City 1st Marine Division Association will attend.
