San Luis Obispo (CA) Tribune Wednesday, February 29, 2012 Dorothy Madeline Hill Madeline Hill, 89, as she was known to her family and friends, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb 25, 2012, in Temecula, Calif. She was born in April 1922 in Kalamazoo, Mich. Madeline and her husband of 55 years, Linden C Hill, enjoyed traveling in their fifth wheel through 43 states, including Alaska and across the Arctic Circle while in Canada. She and Linden retired from Torrance, Calif, in the Paso Robles area in 1989. In Paso Robles they enjoyed being active in the community and volunteered her time making braille bibles for the blind. She also worked with the Hospice bereavement program and assisted others with their loss of loved ones. She also enjoyed quilting and expanding her mind with reading. She will be missed by all. Madeline is survived by daughters, Sandra Duarte of Garden Grove, Calif, Roberta Benson of Corona, Calif, and Kristin Allen of Paso Robles; and son, David Hill of Temecula. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Max Hill and his wife, Irene of Wickenburg, Ariz; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Linden. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the Paso Robles home of her daughter, Kristen Allen, hosted by the Hill Family.
