Robert H. Carpenter, 81, of Flagstaff, AZ, died March 6, 2012. He was born in Chino, CA on March 5, 1931. He was retired from the Aerospace Industry and served in the military in the Korean Conflict, U.S. Air Force, as a Staff SGT. He belonged to The Elks Club and The Charly's Morning Coffee Club.
Bob loved sailing, fishing and gadgets. He had two sailboats over the years, which he loved to take out for hours on end. While living in the Pacific Northwest, he spent most weekends fishing for salmon, another one of his passions. Being an engineer, Bob had a fascination for gadgets of any kind, and loved computers, which became his hobby after retirement.
He also loved animals, and considered becoming a vet at one point. His pets were his pride and joy and people joked that they'd like to come back in their next life as one of Bob's dogs, because they were so dearly loved. He was preceded in death by his parents Father, Clifford O. Carpenter, Stepmother, Rowena Carpenter, and mother, Dorothy Rightmer.
He is survived by his spouse, Beverly J. Carpenter, daughter: Leslie Connell (husband, Joe Connell), son: Neal Carpenter (wife, Tambra Carpenter), Brothers: Bill Carpenter, David Rightmer and 3 Grandchildren: (Dylan McKenney, Logan Carpenter, India Regan.)
There will be a reception in Bob's honor at the Peaks, 3150 N Winding Brook Rd, Flagstaff, AZ on Saturday, March 17th between 1pm and 3pm, open to the public.
