The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 03/16/2012 Frances Lorene (Stapp) Hogan, 81, of Mesa died peacefully March 11, 2012, at the Banner Gardens Hospice Inpatient Unit with her daughter by her side. She was born May 30, 1930, in Springfield, Mo. to Thomas Burton “Burt” Stapp and Sarah Estella “Stella” (Shaw) Stapp Frances married Charles “Chuck” Wesley Hogan Easter Sunday, April 17, 1949, in Springfield, Mo. They were married 61 years before Chuck passed away in 2010. In 1958, they relocated to Arizona, where they lived for more than 50 years. Chuck was the love of her life which was evident through the years, as well as, when she cared for him in his decline, while she herself was receiving chemo and radiation therapy. After Chuck retired, they spent many days fishing and camping. Frances loved the Lord and came to know Him in a personal way as a young girl. Chuck and Frances served together at their church, Desert Chapel United Methodist Church for many years. Serving on the Missions committee and as ushers and greeters. They developed many special friendships there. Frances’ faith and trust in the Lord was evident in her life by the way she lived her life and by the way she overcame the many years of disappointments she faced in battling cancer. Frances was the cornerstone of her family and she gave of herself unconditionally. She spent endless hours in prayer for them. She was a faithful and loyal friend to many. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, parents and brother Billy Richard Stapp. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Olvis (Ron) of Hartville, Mo.; son Loren Hogan (Susan) of Show Low; five grandchildren: Richard Hogan (Kim) , Lori Harris (Rob) both of Mesa, James Hogan (Hattie) of Pinetop, Rachel Olvis McCracken (Brian) of Mesa, Leah Olvis Coon (Preston) of Clarksville, Tenn.; and 10 great-grandchildren: Kylie Hogan, Presley Lykin, Maycie Hogan, Kade Hogan, Aubrey Coon, Rylan Hogan, EmmaMcCracken, Makayla Coon, Camdyn Hogan, Kaelyn McCracken; brother Thomas Stapp (Gerri); sister Mary Willbanks (Pete); nieces and nephews and many dear friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made to Banner Hospice, 275 E. Germann Rd. #110, Gilbert, AZ 85120 or Desert Chapel United Methodist Church, 462 N.
