Lyn Edell Harwood

Lyn Edell Harwood of Snowflake, AZ passed away on March 19, 2012 at his home in Snowflake, AZ.
He was born Aug. 31, 1934 in Grace, Idaho to John Edell Harwood and Alice Egbert Harwood and grew up in Pocatello, Idaho. He moved to Salt Lake City, Milwaukee and Denver in his pursuit of his degrees in Civil & Structural Engineering and for many courses in Mechanical Engineering.
Lyn became licensed as a Professional Engineer in both Idaho and Utah. He worked more than 15 years at the Idaho National Nuclear Engineering Laboratory near Idaho Falls, ID, before his retirement. He then did consulting work as a Project Engineer in Salt Lake City & American Falls, ID prior to his car accident.
In 2000 he moved to Mesa, AZ for health reasons, then to Snowflake, AZ in 2005 when his health had partially recovered from the car accident.
Lyn is survived by his wife of 22 years, Patricia; his children Richard (Sandy), Bentley, Steven (Laurie), and Eileen (Rick) Horne; his step-children Elizabeth (Allen) Haws, Lynnette (John) Chester, and Ryan (Jennie) Squibb; & grandchildren Leslie Harwood, Rebecca Robinson, Haley Robinson, R. Mitchell Haws, Kaelei Haws, Erin Haws, Brady Haws, Arianna Chester, Adalyn Squibb and J. Bryson Squibb. He is also survived by his siblings E. Owen, Twila (Robert) Cook, Jennilee (Ray) Coles, and Bryon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Linda Harwood Wilson, and his youngest son, Christopher Jay.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 24th at 1:00 PM at the Main St. Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6th Ward, in Snowflake. A private viewing for the family will be held prior to the service.
Burial will be in the R.V. “Mike” Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.
