Willis R Lucas, 94, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, he will be missed. Born September 24, 1917 in Linton, IN to Reid Lucas and Iva Dell Page and rejoined his Tiger on February 29, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, June; son, James; grandson, Dallas. He is survived by his daughter, Marcia (Larry Callagy); sons, William (Gracie Becker) and Robert.
He had a Bachelor degree in engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and worked for the City of Tucson for many years. Prior to the City of Tucson he worked for Factory Mutual Insurance and during WWII he worked on the B17 life support and fire suppression systems. Civic and professional activities included Catalina Boy Scout Council and was inducted as a life time member, various duties at Grace St Paul's Church, Toastmasters International, ICBO and SAHBA. He was an avid sports fan and long time fan of the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Cubs. The family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice for their care during his final journey.
Private burial Services will be Tuesday, March 6, 2012 with entombment at Southlawn Memorial Park, 5401 S. Park Ave., Tucson, Arizona. A Memorial Service will be at Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 2331 E. Adams St., Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, of Tucson. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made in his name to Grace St. Paul's Church or the charity of your choice.
