Andrew P. Pistella, 83, passed away March 18, 2012 in Lake Havasu City. He was born Oct. 26, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Andrew J. and Josephine Cardillo Pistella.
Andy, as he was known to his family and friends, was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army. He married his wife, Gail Petro Zachary, in November 1984, in Brentwood, Pa. Andy was a truck driver in the Pittsburgh tri-state area for 45 years and loved his work. He loved being from Pittsburgh and was a big Steelers fan, but once he moved to Havasu he said, "I am on vacation everyday of the year now.” He really enjoyed the weather, the Lake, trips to Laughlin, volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul and being with his friends in the "Paisono Gang.” Andy was now an Arizonan and loved it. He was a member of the American Legion Post 81 for 59 years (45th Infantry Division Assoc.) as well as a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul. He will be deeply missed. Bye Babe!
Andy is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Gail (Petro) of Lake Havasu City; step-daughter, Danette Zachary; sons, Andy, Anthony and Adam; as well as the entire Petro family back East; and many friends and relatives back East and in Havasu. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew J. and Josephine Pistella; and a sister, Julia Viola.
Per Andy's wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Havasu.
