DONOVAN, Elaine Jessica

Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from March 22 to March 29, 2012 - Elaine Jessica Donovan, age 58, a 3-year resident of Fort Mohave, Ariz., passed away at home on Thursday, March 15, 2012. She was born August 25, 1953, in Seattle, Washington to Edward and Marilyn Donovan. Elaine moved from Seattle to Fort Mohave in 2009. For the past year and a half, she enjoyed working as administrative assistant to Mohave County Supervisor, Tom Sockwell. Although Elaine missed the great outdoors of the Northwest, especially sailing, fishing, snow skiing, eating salmon and crab, she quickly embraced the Southwest lifestyle and through her work she met many people and made new friends in the area. Elaine was a nature girl who loved to "play in the dirt." She had a passion and talent for gardening, whether she was growing grass or cactus. She also loved animals, traveling, cooking, home decorating, and sewing. She was a great seamstress, who could create a beautiful dress in no time. She also enjoyed gambling at the Avi. Although Elaine's time here on earth was short, she always lived life to the fullest! Elaine was preceded in death by her father, Edward Donovan, in 2009. Elaine is survived by her mother, Marilyn Donovan of Marysville, Wash.; brother, Gregory Donovan of Lake Stevens, Wash.; sister, Nancy (Stephen) Champagne of Marshfield, Mass.; niece, Monique; and nephews, Jeffrey and Patrick of Marshfield, Mass. A celebration of Elaine's life, where family and friends can gather to share memories and refreshments in an informal atmosphere, will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, March 23, 2012. at 4897 Calle Del Media in Fort Mohave. Arrangements are under the care of Desert Lawn Funeral Home, Crematory and Memorial Gardens.
