Messick March 21, 1932 ~ March 24, 2012 Richard "Dick" Messick, age 80, passed away March 24, 2012 surrounded by his family at home in Peeples Valley, AZ. Dick was born March 21, 1932 in Glendale, Arizona to William S. and Wilma Jessie Messick. He served in the U.S. Army and later began working in Sales working with various companies in the Phoenix area namely Coca-Cola and later Arizona Refining Ashpalt Company and International Surfacing. He has lived in Peeples Valley for serveral years and was a member of the Yarnell Community Presbyterian Church. Dick is survived by his wife, Jean of Peeples Valley and Children: Julie (Bob) of Phoenix, Ginger Pitts (Alvin) of Phoenix and Bill Messick of Peeples Valley. Grandchildren: Shan McDonald, Chaz Pitts, Denise Patterson, Lindsey Halse, Kyle Pitts, Chelsea Messick and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters Roberta Cantrell and Mary Lou Elmont. Dick is survived by his wife Jean of Peeples Valley; children Julie (Bob)Dolan of Phoenix, Ginger Pitts (Alvin) of Phoenix, and Bill Messick of Peeples Valley; grandchildren Shan McDonald, Chaz Pitts, Denise Patterson, Lindsey Halse, Kyle Pitts, Chelsea Messick, Brook Finegan; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters Roberta Cantrell and Mary Lou Elmont. Memorial contributions in Dick’s memory may be given to the Granite Mountain Hospice, 3107 Clearwater Dr., Prescott, AZ 86305. Memorial services will be held on Saturday (March 31) at 2 p.m. at the Yarnell Community Presbyterian Church with Pastor Paul Jones officiating.
