Judith (“Judy”) Antoinette (Miller) Stallings, 69, of Clarkdale, AZ, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2012.
Her wonderful wit, easy smile, and loyalty to her friends will leave a legacy of joy.
She was born on December 21, 1942, to Thomas Miller & Alice Calhoon. Judy graduated from Renton High in 1961, and received BA and MA in Foreign Language from the University of Washington.
She married Thomas Stallings in 1982, and they enjoyed life together until Tom’s passing in 2008. Judy and her beloved Australian Terriers, “Lida Rose” and “Dusty”, moved to Clarkdale, AZ in 2011.
Judy was a devoted elementary school teacher until her retirement in 2011. Judy also experienced the travel industry touring Europe, England, South America, and Mexico. She volunteered in the Cottonwood Public Library.
Judy showed her creativity with her quilting, knitting, beading, or stained glass hobbies. Her greatest passion was training and showing her beloved Australian Terriers. Judy was co-founder of AustralianTerrierInternational.org, now in 30 countries.
Judy is survived by her mother, Alice Calhoon (93) of Kent, WA; stepson Tom Stallings Jr., his wife Diana, stepdaughter Diane (Stallings) Bauer of Phoenix; sister Merrely (Miller) Bantell, husband Marvin of Renton, WA; and a brother Thomas G. Miller of Olympia, WA. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 4 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held in Judy’s home on March 31 at 1:00 pm.
