MIER, Josephine A.

Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Wednesday, March 28, 2012 Josephine A. Mier was born June 13, 1917 in Los Lunas NM. She is the daughter and middle child of Martin C. Lucero and Telesfora Moreles Lucero. Josephine grew up in Los Luna NM and Winslow AZ. She had 3 brothers and 3 sisters with one surviving sibling, Lupe Sanchez. She married Joseph F. Mier in 1947 and has 5 children; Arthur Mier (Veronica), Priscilla Herrera (Marty), Barbara Keenan (Raymond), Joseph Mier and Michael Mier. After marrying Joe they lived in Flagstaff AZ and raised their children. They were married just shy of 50 years when Joe passed away January 1997. They share 9 grandchildren Andrea Nako, Carla Bentley (Blu), Jamie Wade, Marty Herrera Jr. (JaNae), Michael Keenan, Aaron Herrera, Natalie, Stephanie and Angela Mier and 11 great grandchildren. Josephine peacefully passed away March 23, 2012 at home with her family surrounding her with love and comfort. She was welcomed home by her loving husband and best friend Joe Mier and her beloved grandson Aaron Herrera. She will forever be loved and cherished as she has touched so many lives. Her services will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Flagstaff AZ on Friday, March 30 ,2012 Rosary being recited at 10 am, Mass will follow at 11am, burial will conclude services at Calvary Cemetery.
