Doyle Stottlemyre Sr., 74, of Camp Verde died peacefully on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at his home. He was born near Plato, Missouri on September 30, 1937 to Oren and Mildred Stottlemyre. Doyle supported his family as a heavy duty welding mechanic and crusher operator.
Doyle was preceded in death by his wife Rosalie, his father Oren, and his sister(s), Joyce and Leona.
He was the proud father of four daughters; Cindy Stottlemyre who shared his home and his humor, Debbie (Carl) Dickerson of Flagstaff, Pamela (Gilbert) Delgado of Glendale, Susan (Mike) Rusinski of Tempe, and his Son, Doyle Stottlemyre Jr. of Newport, Oregon. He was also Grandpa to Anthony and Joey Delgado, Ciara Halfast; Jeremiah and Justin Dickerson; Mickella and Alexis Knapp and Wyatt and Tanner Stottlemyre. Doyle also enjoyed teasing and playing with his 10 Great-Grandkids. He was truly a family man blessed with a large family that loved him very much.
Doyle leaves his mom, Mildred, of Flagstaff; brothers, Lee (Jeri) of Camp Verde and Darle and Jimmy (Jill) of Flagstaff; and his sister, Donna (Dale) of Boron, California.
Doyle enjoyed hunting, fishing and hanging out on his porch. He also relished playing cards, yahtzee and backgammon with anyone willing to listen to some friendly abuse.
The family wants to extend a special thank you to MeriLinda Snyder for taking such wonderful care of Dad in his last days.
Services will be Saturday, March 31 at 2 p.m. at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66 in Flagstaff. A poker game will follow the services at the Dickerson’s home. In lieu of flowers, Doyle would love for you to go fishing and have a cold one.
