Mary Hamilton, age 90, a 19-year part-time resident of Mohave Valley, Ariz., passed away after a long illness on Sunday, March 25, 2012, in Chewelah, Wash.
Mary was born in Spokane, Wash., on May 15, 1921, to Arthur Melius and Mary Josephine (Kroetch) Melius.
She married William F. Hamilton on April 19, 1940, and they had five children, who were her pride and joy.
When in Arizona, she volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul in Needles, Calif.
Mary was an avid crafts person, and after retirement spent much of her time working on her myriad of projects.
Rest in peace, Momma, you deserve it.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; son, Leo (Karen); parents, Arthur and Mary Josephine; four brothers, Leo, Lawrence, John, and Lewie Melius; and two sisters, Theresa Melius and Evelyn Peterson-Munson.
Mary is survived by her three daughters, Darlene (David) Cashman of Great Falls, Mont., Vivian (Chuck) Hopkins of Mohave Valley, and Theresa (Rick) Reynolds of Addy, Wash; son, David Hamilton of Ford, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Ghost Church in Valley, Wash., with interment at Jump Off Joe Cemetery.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Mohave Valley Fire Department, Station 82, 1395 Levee Dr., Mohave Valley.
