Julio M. Reyes, 80, of Avondale died March 28, 2012, at Hospice of the Valley in Sun City.
Mr. Reyes was born Dec. 7, 1931, in Alamo, Texas, to Severiano and Concepcion Sr. He moved to Arizona in 1949, and worked as a truck driver, meat cutter for Swift Meats and retired as a dock worker for a local food processing company.
He was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Avondale.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Gloria.
He is survived by four daughters, Graviela Cota, Anita, Grace Gutierrez, and Maricela Flores; two sons, Javier and Adrian; one sister, Paulina Solis; three brothers, Tony, Luciano and Felice; 28 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. April 2 at Avenidas Funeral Chapel, 522 E. Western Ave. in Avondale.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., and interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 10045 W. Thomas Road in Avondale. The Rev. Mario Garcia will officiate.
