Helen Christine Bokath, age 82, a 28-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz., was called to Heaven on Thursday, March, 29, 2012.
She was born September 17, 1929, in Medford, Wis., to Fred and Martha Steinman.
Helen worked at the Hacienda/La Puente School District before eventually retiring from Southern California Edison in Laughlin, Nev.
She loved spending time with family, as well as fishing, boating, traveling, cooking, reading, and trips across the river to the casinos.
Helen touched the lives of so many with her smile, generosity, caring and love. Her love for life was contagious. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be missed in so many ways. You will live forever in our hearts and memories; we will always love you.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Arthur, to whom she was married for 59 years; four brothers, Herbert, Herman, Leonard, and Arthur; and four sisters, Bertha, Elsie, Annie, and Ester.
Helen is survived by her four sons, Gary (Sheila) of Wash., Doug (Shirley) of Calif., Jeff "Bogie" of Ariz., and Tim of Calif.; daughter, Pam of Ariz.; sister, Ella of Oak Lawn, Ill.; twelve grandchildren, Stephanie, Autumn, Brandon, Shannon, Stacey, Amy, Brooke, Steven, Bradley, Brittney, Mark and Kimberly; and seven great-grandchildren, Austin, Anthony, Aubrey, Madison, Braden, Ethan and Jolene were the joys of her life.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of Helen's life.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1664 Central Ave., Bullhead City. If you are unable to attend the service, it will be viewable online at www.stjohnbhc.org.
A celebration of Helen's life will follow the service at 4:30 p.m. at El Palacio restaurant, 1885 Hwy 95, Bullhead City.
