LEIBENSPERGER,
Dianne
(Maiden Name: Bradshaw)
Dianne Bradshaw Duerson Leibensperger, 78, died quietly Thursday, June 7, 2007.
She fought her battle with cancer with much grace and dignity. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Born on May 23, 1929, in Sherman, Texas. She first traveled to Oak Creek Canyon as a young girl. It was there she met her first husband, Hugh Campbell Duerson who was of a pioneer Flagstaff family. They were not married until many years later, while both were on active duty in the U.S. Naval Air Force.
After Mr. Duerson's death in 1985, she was fortunate to meet and marry William "Bill" Leibensperger. His death in 1998 left a void, which she filled with much world traveling and many glorious adventures with her closest friends. Very actively involved in Lion's Club International, she took their motto of "We Serve" to heart. She devotedly served her community in numerous ways over 42 years spent in Sedona. Continuously involved as a trumpet player in the community band, Beta Sigma Phi, Arizona Cactus Pine Girl Scouts, Lion's Sight and Hearing, The Church of the Red Rocks and many more organizations. She touched countless lives with her sincerity and willingness to serve.
Mrs. Leibensperger is survived by her brother, Wesley Walker Bradshaw (Sandi); daughters Casey "Cindy" Kent (Charles) of Tucson, Kris Duerson of Flagstaff, and Danni Barker (Mic) of Sedona; foster daughter Monique Oberheu Jaquez (Dan) of Las Cruces, N.M.; step-children Ned (Patsy) Leibensperger, Bill (Dawn) Leibensperger, Beth (Pete) Harroff, Susan Wylie; and numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services were at Church of the Red Rocks. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to: Lion's Sight & Hearing Foundation, 3427 N. 32nd St., Phoenix, AZ 85018.
