HERSCHAFT, Richard D.

Richard D. Herschaft 69, of Gold Canyon, Arizona passed away June 11, 2007. He was born July 20, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA. After serving in the Air Force for 8 years, he relocated to Columbus, Ohio where he lived for over 30 years. He retired from the Columbus Police Department as a Detective in the Juvenile Division. In 1992, Rich and his wife Barbara followed their daughter to Phoenix, Arizona. Retirement did not last long, after Rich began a position with Chase Bank as a security manager, which lasted 10 years. This was a job he very much enjoyed and where many deep friendships developed. Rich was a devoted husband of 46 years. He was very much loved by Barbara, their children Michele and Rick, and their spouses, Rob and Jenny. He is survived by his family members and by his sister, EJ and brother, Vic and numerous nieces and nephews. He also will be missed by family in Berlin-Germany, plus the many friends he cared for so much over the past years. A memorial service was held on Sunday, June 17, 2007 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church Chapel, 612 South Ellsworth Road in Mesa, Arizona.
