WOERNER, Janice Louise


Marin Independent Journal (San Rafael CA) Sunday, March 18, 2012 Janice Louise Woerner (Jan)~~Mom passed away on March 13, 2012 with her children at her side. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 53 years, Gene Woerner. Jan is lovingly survived by her children, Michael (Janice Marie) Woerner of Novato, Patrick (Donna Condrashoff) of Redmond, Oregon; and Kathleen Bender (John Booth) of Truckee, CA. She will be greatly missed by her five grandsons and two great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. As a young mom, Jan volunteered at Dixie School, was a Girl Scout Leader, Scorekeeper and Team mom for Dixie Little and Senior League Baseball. She later worked as a Pac Bell 411 operator and as a bookkeeper for Woerner's Liquors. Jan also loved the San Francisco Giants and was an avid 49er fan. Jan enjoyed the outdoors and travel which included backpacking throughout California, camping and waterskiing at Lake Shasta and Scotts Flat Lake, and numerous fishing trips to Collins Lake and Alaska. She also enjoyed traveling with Gene and friends around the US in their motor home. The highlight of her travels was their annual trip to the Flying E Ranch in Wickenburg, AZ where horseback rides and songs around the campfire were a must! During quiet times at home Mom enjoyed crocheting and won numerous awards for her projects at the Marin County Fair. She also was a member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West (NDGW) and has continued her affiliation with the Native Sons of the Golden West (NSGW). Family and friends will be remembering Jan on March 24th, 2012 at 11:00am at the Upper Lucas Valley Community Center, 1201 Idylberry Rd., San Rafael.
