Robert Lee Bowens passed away on March 30, 2012 at his residence in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 73. He was born on Jan. 13, 1939, in Henderson, Texas, to Emory and Viola (Jacobs) Bowen.
Bob, as he was known to his family and friends, and his wife Shirley moved to Lake Havasu City from Long Beach, Calif., in 2005. Bob worked at Havasu Regional Medical Center as an Environmental Services Technician; in 2009 he was the recipient of the Life Point Mercy Award. Prior to moving to Lake Havasu, he worked for Long Beach Memorial Hospital as the E.V.S. manager. Bob was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church and enjoyed an occasional round of golf.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Shirley; son, Bobby Stapp and his wife Lisa; daughter, Carrie Navarette and her husband, Richard; and grandchildren, Cody Stapp, Cheyenne Stapp and Cassidy Navarette, all of Lake Havasu City. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Viola; and his siblings, Mandy, Margaret, Athelena, Emory, Jimmy and Fred.
A memorial service will be Friday at Grace Episcopal Church at 3 p.m. with Father David Richardson officiating. Services will conclude at the Grace Episcopal Columbarium. A reception will immediately follow at the church.
