Margie Marie Lain was born Feb. 18, 1916, in Ballard, Mo. She passed away Thursday, March 19, 2012, at the age of 96, at the Gardens Care Center, Kingman.
Margie moved to the Kingman area in 1963. She was employed by McCullough in Lake Havasu City, Kingman Regional Medical Center and the American Legion while living here in Kingman.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ida York; five brothers, Herbert, Ervin, Glen, Billie and Ivan; and two sisters, Artie Lippold and Delpha York. She is survived by two brothers, Raymond York of Butler, Mo., and Lonnie (Betty) York of Arlington, Texas; one sister, Naomi Cummings of Nevada, Mo.; five children, Myrna (Norm) Johnson of Scottsdale, C.A. (Brenda) Lain of Marceline, Mo., Janice Edwards, Ideana Hickle and Jeanie Badilla/Rich Sibbett of Kingman; nine grandchildren, Richard (Lisa) Johnson, Jim (Nancy) Johnson, Bob (Laura) Johnson, Vanessa (Chris) Hale, Deana (Jimmy) Cottle-Chunn, Stacey (Shawn) Hancock, Katie (Chad) Gardner, Larry Badilla and Monica Badilla; 20 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. All will miss her greatly.
Margie was a lifetime member of the Ladies American Legion and the VFW.
There will be no local services; her children will be taking her remains to Butler, Mo., to be with her other family members who have passed before her.
