SECOR, William Henry


Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from April 6 to April 13, 2012 - William Henry Secor, age 80, a 70-year resident of Needles, Calif., and Mohave Valley, Ariz., was called to his eternal home on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. He was born in Shawnee, Okla., on December 24, 1931, and was a graduate of Needles High School Class of 1949. He served in the Korean War as a Locomotive Engineer. William raised his family in Mohave Valley, and worked on the Santa Fe Railroad for "43 years and 100 days." William enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. You could always find him with a smile on his face and wearing his Korean Vet hat, talking to strangers. Children were the joy of his life, whether it be 4-H, ball players, or kids at the park. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bess and Austin Secor, and three sisters, Betty Durand, Rose Pickens and Nanny Bell Frahm. William is survived by wife of 50 years, Mildred; four daughters, Pat (Charles) Traylor, Colleen Glover, Cindy (Dave) Claassen and Linda (Shawn) Koehler; son, Bill Secor; 15 grandchildren, Anneka Hayes, Yolanda Vancil, Adrian Traylor, Malinda Glover, Billy Secor, Travis Secor, Cody Secor/Zmrzel, Gene Glover, Peter Secor, Kelsey Koehler, Katie Koehler, Chase Koehler, Jacob Claassen, Dillon Brown and Michael Brown; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Desert Lawn Cemetery, 9250 Ranchero Lane, Mohave Valley, Ariz. Celebration of Life will follow at Needles Senior Center, 1699 Bailey Ave., Needles, Calif.
