Margaret Ann Harper died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at her residence in Springerville. She was born Feb. 16, 1923, in Socorro, N.M. to Edward Becker and Ann MacTavish Becker.
Margie grew up in Springerville. She attended and graduated from the University of Arizona with a BS in education. She married Merle Harper Feb. 2, 1947. She taught third grade and loved to remember the students she taught. Margie was active in the community throughout her life, participating in activities at the Community Presbyterian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, Beta Sigma Phi, the White Mountain Hospital Auxiliary, and the White Mountain Regional Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years Merle Harper of Springerville, three sons, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at Burnham Mortuary, 535 N. Main St. in Eagar. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, at the Community Presbyterian Church in Springerville. Interment will follow the service at the Springerville Cemetery.
