The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 04/10/2012 Veronica Hargis, 78, of Show Low died peacefully March 27, 2012, in Show Low. She was born Nov. 15, 1933, Dickson City, Pa. Veronica lived in Dickson City until her marriage Oct. 3, 1959, moving to Alexandria, Va. During her 40 years in Virginia, Veronica met many lifelong friends and was active in many women’s clubs, volunteering at the local hospital, St. Louis Catholic Church and St. Lucy’s Guild, Mount Vernon House, Garden Club and craft shows. Veronica and Harley relocated to Show Low, where Veronica was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church and volunteered at Summit Health Center for 11 years. Veronica’s many friends will remember her as a loving and caring person ready to help at any time. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Harley; a daughter, Sheila; son-in-law Bill Lasley; and grandchildren Jake and Rowan; brothers: Andy and Joseph Kruper of Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.
