MADARA, Jeanne

(Maiden Name: Kaylor)

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, April 11, 2012 Jeanne Madara of Wickenburg passed away April 1 at home with her daughters by her side. Jeanne was born in 1927 to Alma and Todd Kaylor in Juniata, Penn. In 1946 she married William (Bill) Madara and began a life of adventure, living in Georgia and Germany before moving to Alaska for 20 years. Jeanne and Bill loved hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking together, and she loved exploring Alaska from the air after she soloed in a C-150 in 1971. When she retired from the Civil Service in the early 1980s, they bought a motor home and set off on their new adventure, touring the United States before settling in Aguila, Ariz., for 20 years. After Bill’s passing, Jeanne moved to Wickenburg to be near her dear friends and Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she was a member. Honoring her request, her ashes will be mixed with Bill’s and scattered at their favorite fishing spot in Alaska. Jeanne is survived by her daughters E. Jean (Michael) Diamond, Dawn (Buck Salley) Madara; granddaughters Dorrie (Tad) Dean and Michelle (Daryl) Barney; four great-grandchildren; and her brother Gary (Judy) Kaylor of Sacramento, Calif. Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of the Valley, Team R, 9435 W. Peoria Ave., Peoria, AZ 85345.
