MCCARTHEY, Robert G.

Robert G. McCarthey, Jr., of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on August 1, 2008. Bob was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on December 7, 1927. Bob was married to Ellie McCarthey of Denver, Colorado, from 1951 until 1977 with three children and one granddaughter. Bob married Shirley McCarthey in 1977. Bob was an avid golfer, fisherman, skier, loving husband, father and grandfather who loved people and lived life to the fullest. Bob is survived by his wife, Shirley McCarthey; daughter Valerie McCarthey-Smith (Skip Smith) of Aurora, CO; son Eric McCarthey (Peggy) and granddaughter Alexandra McCarthey of Roswell, GA; daughter Sharon Gillespie (Tim) of Bellevue, WA; daughter-in-law Sheri Sutton (Don) of Lone Tree, CO; daughter-in-law DiAnne Miller (Don) of Lake Oswego, OR; daughter-in-law Rebecca Osborne of Arvada, CO; and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services were held at the Colorado Community Church, 3651 S. Colorado Blvd., Englewood, Colorado, 80013, on Saturday, August 16, 2008.
