Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Thursday, April 12, 2012 - Kenneth W. Johnson passed away April 6, 2012 with his family holding his hands. He was 82 years old. Ken was born to William and Stella (Rodney) Johnson Dec. 19, 1929, in Huron, S.D. In May 1947, Ken married his sweetheart and only love, Stella Ford, and they were married for 63 wonderful years. They moved to California in 1950, and lived there for 30 years, raising their four children. Ken and Stella moved to Lake Havasu City 32 years ago. Ken was a successful self-made businessman and worked hard for everything he had. He was the hardest worker we ever knew. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Mike; and his beloved wife, Stella. Ken leaves behind his daughters, Marcia Ritz and her husband, Tom, and Susan Doyle and her husband, Forest; son, Larry Johnson; granddaughters, Jodie, Teri and her husband, Nick, Rennie and Hollie; grandsons, Jamie and Jason; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Brooke, Kenny, Nicholas, Marissa, April, Zack, Andrew and Matthew; and two great great-granddaughters. Ken was the rock of his family and will be missed everyday. In honoring his wishes, Ken requested no services but to be cremated and his ashes co-mingled with his wife.
