David Baca, age 92, a 30-year resident of Bullhead City, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at his home in Bullhead City, Ariz.
He was born November 6, 1919, in Belen, N.M., and was the first born of 12 siblings.
He and his twin brother, Benjamin, joined the U.S. Army, and they were stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. David received the Purple Heart while serving in the Phillippines during World War II.
After the war, he settled in Southern California, where he married Susie, his beloved wife of 65 years.
David loved baseball, and was a coach for his son's teams.
He spent all of his working years in California before retiring in 1982 from Southern Pacific Railroad.
After his retirement, he moved to Bullhead City, where he spent his years enjoying his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
David loved going to the casinos to play blackjack, watching baseball, napping, and solving crossword and word search puzzles.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Romanita and Juan de Dios Baca, and three brothers, Joe, Benjamin, and Rey.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Susie; two sons, David Jr., and Michael; five daughters, Nellie Ann, Katherine, Carolyn, Michelle, and Joleen; two brothers, Max and Johnny; six sisters, Dorothy, Priscilla, Sarah, Martha, Ida and Mary; 18 grandchildren, Tony, Tracey, Annette, Steve Jr, Scott, Kacey, Jennifer, Michael II, Danielle, Matthew, Mark, Mikaela, Willie, Joey, Weylin, Allen, Erica and Pebbles; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012, at Desert Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 9250 S. Ranchero Lane, Mohave Valley, AZ 86440.
There will be a reception following the services at David's home in Bullhead City.
