EDMUNDS, John Coach


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Saturday, April 14, 2012 - John (Ken) Coach Edmunds passed away April 10, 2012 in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 66. He was born Jan. 24, 1946, in Rawlins, Wyo., to Margaret Sanders and Jess H. Edmunds. Coach Edmunds, as he was known to his family and friends, graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelors Degree in Education. Ken and his wife, Sherry G. Edmunds, moved to Lake Havasu City in 1989, where Coach Edmunds worked at the high school as a teacher, mentor, football, basketball, track and golf Coach. “J” Hall will never be the same without him and he was referred by many of his students as their favorite teacher. Students and teachers alike couldn’t help but chuckle when he sneezed as it sounded like Donald Duck. Ken was a loving husband, father, grandfather, coach and teacher. Coaching and education were a true passion in his life and he enjoyed seeing his students pursue their own careers and happiness in life. Ken was an avid sports fan as his television was always tuned to ESPN. He was a die hard Denver Broncos, Wyoming Cowboys, LA Dodgers and Dale Jr. fan to name a few. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sherry; his three daughters, Natalie Allen (Ron), of Lake Havasu City, Joelle Edmunds, of Long Beach, Calif., and Michelle Wynne, of Chandler, Ariz.; his five grandchildren, Heather Nolen, of Lake Havasu City; Kayden Edmunds, of Long Beach, Calif., and Eric Wynne, Kiera Wynne, Tyler Wynne, of Chandler, Ariz. A Celebration of his life will take place on April 21, at 1 p.m. at the Allen residence in Lake Havasu City. Sport your favorite team colors in tribute to Coach Edmunds.
