MAIN, Douglas Eugene

Douglas Eugene Main, age 52, of Phoenix, AZ, received his wings and flew home on Friday, June 8, 2007. 

Born in Muncie, IN, October 2, 1954, he was the son of Bobby and Lillian Main. 

In 1968 the family transplanted to Phoenix and later Buckeye where he was a graduate of Buckeye Union High School's Class of 1972. Due to his humor and kindness, he has amassed countless friends. Known for his grand stature and even larger heart, he was always there to bring a smile to one's face. The man respectfully regarded by his children and their friends as "Big Poppa", was a mentor and father figure to many beyond the limits of his own roof. 

In addition to his father, he is survived by his children Douglas II, Andrew, and Aleasha, as well as his siblings Steve Main, Greg (Melinda) Main, Cindy (Byron) King, and Randy (Martha) Main. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive. 

A memorial service was held Saturday, June 16, 2007 at the VCFNP, 6250 W. Peoria, Glendale, AZ.
