Steven C. Nyahay, 61, of Chino Valley, Ariz., formerly of Schellsburg, Pa., died Sunday at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, following a brief battle with cancer.
He was born in Elizabeth, Pa., son of the late Michael and Evelyn (Sampson) Nyahay.
Surviving are a daughter, Stephanie Kennedy and husband Justin of Virginia Beach, Va.; son Mark Lutkins of Ashton, Idaho; and daughter Melissa Lutkins of Billings, Mont.; two sisters, Christina Rawls (Mark) of Dallastown, Pa., and Elisabeth Nyahay of Monroe, La.; and four brothers, Barry (MaryAnn) and David of New Castle, Pa., Jeffrey (Sherry) of Martinsburg, Pa., and Michael (Wendy) of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Steven was a 1968 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School. He was employed as a salesman with various employers, selling anything from cars to alarm systems. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served two tours in Vietnam.
Steven was of the Protestant faith and made a confession that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior. He was a loving and devoted father.
Services were at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, Pa.; www.sorgefuneralhome.com. Pastor Ken Anthony officiated. Military honors were provided by Blair County Veterans Honor Guard.
