Thomas Maxson
Thomas Maxson Babcock, age 59, died at home surrounded by his family July 9, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Tom was born in Phoenix, Arizona on April 14, 1947 to Horace Maxson Babcock and Mary Helen (Morgan) Babcock.
His professional life included journalism, public relations and public service as the City of Phoenix Water Conservation Coordinator for the past 19 years. He held degrees from the University of Arizona and Arizona State University and was nationally recognized for his contributions in the water conservation field.
Tom had a loving heart, a wonderful wit, and an unshakable commitment to his family, friends and work. He will be deeply missed.
Tom is survived by his wife, Susan Babcock and his daughters, Catherine (Babcock) Mohr and Elizabeth Babcock. His father, brother Joe Babcock, sisters Catherine Pieslewicz and Margaret Reynolds and granddaughters Sarah and Amanda also survive him.
A memorial service was held Saturday, July 15, 2006 at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, 4102 W. Union Hills, in Glendale, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Tom's name to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ, 85014.
