Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Saturday, April 21, 2012 - Leo F. McCullough passed away April 17, 2012 in Las, Nev., at the age of 78 with his loving family by his side. Leo was born Aug. 26, 1933, in Renton, Wash., to Leo and Jesse (Loomis) McCullough. Following graduation from high school, Leo enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He proudly served his country for 22 years, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. Leo enjoyed fishing, boating and traveling in his RV. he also spent many hours on his Ham Radio. Before moving to Lake Havasu City eight years ago, Leo resided in Carlsbad, Calif., where he owned and operated an electronics store, Macaw Electronics. Leo is survived by his daughter, Anne Marie Franklin and her husband, Lee Brasch; stepsons, John McCarthy and his wife, Mary, Robert McCarthy and his wife, Sharon, and James Emery and his wife, Carla; stepdaughters, Mary King and her husband, Ken, Teresa Holden, Donna Cox and her husband, Kent, and Gail Lynn and her husband, Douglas; sister, Mary Ann Cox; and brother-in-law, Howard Bowles and his wife, Phillis; as well as 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Leo was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen McCarthy; second wife, Ruby Emery; and his son, Leo R. McCullough. “Thank you papa for loving us as much as we love you. We’ll miss you forever.” Memorial Services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m., at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, with Pastor Dale Ray offering words of comfort and inspiration. Military Honors will be rendered by American Legion Post 81 and VFW Post 9401. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leo’s name to Hospice of Havasu 365 S.
