Arrangements by Cremation Society of Arizona. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, April 21, 2012 Ruth Evangeline Koracin Ruth Koracin, 76, of Prescott, Ariz., died Thursday, April 12, 2012. A memorial service for Ruth will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2012, at the American Lutheran Church in Prescott. Ruth was born in Silva, N.D., on May 2, 1935, to Thomas and Mathilda Lindseth. She grew up on a farm in Silva where she attended a one-room schoolhouse. She received her B.S. in nursing from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She began her nursing career with the VNA (visiting nursing association) of Cleveland, where she provided nursing care to low-income families. She then worked at Pollack Clinic hospital where she met her future husband Frank. Ruth married Frank Koracin in September 1961. They had three children, Frank, Thomas and Katharine. In 1977, Ruth and Frank moved to Prescott, Ariz. While in Prescott, Ruth worked at the VA hospital as a nurse for a few years. Ruth's primary focus was on her family, caring for her blind husband and her three children. She enjoyed volunteer work, walking, yardwork and riding a tandem bicycle with her husband Frank. Ruth and Frank enjoyed camping, accomplishing their goal of traveling to all 50 states. Ruth was a kind and compassionate wife, mother, neighbor and friend. She will be greatly missed. Ruth is survived by her son Frank T. and grandson Frank C. of Prescott; son Thomas of New River; daughter Katharine and husband Rick and grandchildren Daniel and Kyle of San Diego, Calif.; brother Archie Lindseth of Minot, N.D.; brother Clinton Lindseth and wife Lois of San Jose, Calif.; and sister Thelma Lunde of Grand Forks, N.D.
