Frank J. Gusman Sr., 83, of Kingman passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Frank was born in Keokuk, Iowa, March 21, 1929, He served in the U.S. Army as a fireman from 1960 to 1963. He was a professional truck driver for 50 years, the last 35 years with ABF Truck Lines, and was very pleased to be awarded the Million Mile Patch from them. Frank retired in 2002.
Prior to living in Kingman, he lived in the Quad City Area, located on the Mississippi River, where it runs east and west, and borders two states, Iowa and Illinois. He transferred to Kingman in 1988.
After moving to Kingman he and his wife, Dolores ("Dee"), became members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where Frank served as elder for many years.
His hobbies and interests included antique clocks and guitars. With membership in Teamsters Retirees Association and Del Web Fitness Center, he was always happy to spend time visiting with people.
Frank is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dolores; his sons, Frank Jr. of Wagoner, Okla., and Steven of Rock Island, Ill.; and daughter, Rose DeBois, of Oregon. Stepchildren, Carol (CJ) and (David) Payne of Bettendorf, Iowa, Roy (Debbie) Kerns of Davenport, Iowa, Mary Handley of Moline, Ill., and Dale (Kathleen) Gusman of Palm Springs, Calif. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Joseph and Emily Gusman of Wagoner, Jerry Caldwell of Colorado Springs, Colo., Shelly Bushnell of Bettendorf, Michael (Brandie) Handley of Moline, Nicholas Handley of Moline, Nicholas Handley of Moline, Jennifer Gusman of Carbon Cliff, Ill., and Shayla Randall of Silvis, Ill.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Sycamore Ave. A service in celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3958 N. Bank St. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery, 1301 Stockton Hill Road, will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
