Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona Wednesday, April 25, 2012 Gilbert G. Gutierrez, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to be with the Lord April 1, 2012. He was born July 1, 1929 to Samuel and Blanca Gutierrez, who preceded him in death. He grew up in Miami, Ariz. before joining the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper in 1947 serving in the Korean War. In 1951, he was awarded the Purple Heart and shortly after relocated to San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Lucille B. Gutierrez; children, Violet N. Gutierrez, Gilbert B. Gutierrez, Larry G. Gutierrez, and Gary B. Gutierrez (Amy); brothers, Alfredo and Arnoldo Gutierrez of Arizona; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family extends deep appreciation to the many friends who graciously supported them during this difficult time. A chapel service was held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North with interment following at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
