Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Tuesday, April 24, 2012 - Terrance James Smith passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012 at his home in Lake Havasu City at the age of 74. Terry, as he was known to his family and friends, was born Jan. 26, 1938 in Waukesha, Wis. to Harry and Margaret (Hudson) Smith. Following graduation from high school, Terry enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country from Aug. 17, 1956 to Aug. 17, 1960. As a young man, Terry enjoyed riding the bulls at the rodeo and loved going to the horse races. He was an avid golfer and a big time Green Bay Packers fan. Terry is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Sandra Smith, of Lake Havasu City; his son, Lenwood Steven (Daphne) Smith, of Lake Havasu City; daughters, Tara Short and Kellisue (DeWayne) Molzahn, both of Lake Havasu City; sister, Helen O’Brien, of Sun City, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Margaret; and his son, Scott Matthew Smith. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 1 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. Chaplain Kathy Kenney will offer words of comfort and inspiration. Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 81 and VFW Post 9401. In lieu of flowers, the Smith family requests donations in Terry’s name to the American Cancer Association, PO Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or the American Heart Association & Lung Association.
