Saturday, April 28, 2012
Harry D. McMullen grew up on a farm outside of Trenton, Missouri. He served in the US Navy throughout WWII. His stories of Guadalcanal, a devastating typhoon, and witnessing the treaty with Japan are legendary.
He returned home and married Dorothy Turner, his high school sweetheart. He was a loving husband and father. Integrity, honesty, and respect were hallmarks of his character in both business and personal practices. He loved all things technological. He enjoyed everything from hifi into stereo, through transistors, into computers, and finally digital technology.
His successful career in radiology took him all the way from early x-ray through CT and MRI imaging. By the end of his working days, he was a much sought after expert, hired to consult doctors, hospital administrators and architects. His career took him around the globe.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy McMullen, his daughters: Harriett Jean Black and Patricia McMullen-Mikles, and three grandchildren: Monica Black, Charles Black IV, and L. Schuyler Mikles.
Harry passed away on April 24, 2012.
